Cajun Fettuccine Alfredo Sauce Full Recipe

Ingredients:


For the Pasta:

12 oz fettuccine pasta

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 pound chicken breast or shrimp, seasoned with Cajun seasoning

1 cup bell peppers, sliced (red, green, yellow)

1 cup mushrooms, sliced

1 small onion, diced

2 cups heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions:

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

Start by cooking the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.


Step 2: Prepare the Protein

While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

If you’re using chicken, add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through. If you’re using shrimp, add them to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the chicken or shrimp from the skillet and set aside.


Step 3: Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the bell peppers, mushrooms, and onion. Sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.


Step 4: Make the Alfredo Sauce

Reduce the heat to medium and add the heavy cream and butter to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir continuously until the butter is melted and the cream is heated through. Slowly add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.


Step 5: Add the Cajun Flavor

Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to your taste – if you like it spicier, add a bit more Cajun seasoning!


Step 6: Combine Everything

Slice the cooked chicken breasts into strips (if using) and return them or the shrimp to the skillet. Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet as well. Toss everything together until the pasta is well-coated in the creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce.


Step 7: Serve and Enjoy
